Immigrant of the Day: Ash ElDifrawi – Gogo Wifi Executive
I fly a lot. I just hit a million miles on the airline I regularly fly and getting work done on the road is critical. Now that we can access the Internet on airplanes, I’m able to more easily remain caught up with the office. There’s one company that thoroughly dominates Internet access in the skies and that’s Gogo. It has wired up more than 2000 jets for Delta, American, US Air and United Airlines.
Egyptian-born Ash ElDifrawi is Gogo’s Chief Commercial Officer. His job is a combination of managing Gogo’s marketing, airline relations and customer care operations. Prior to joining Gogo, he had senior positions with Hayneedle, the online home furnishings retailer, Google and Wrigley. Ash is also a fellow University of Chicago graduate so bonus points for that. Now if we can just get wifi working on the part of the flight we go over the ocean, I’ll really be happy.
