Leon Rodriguez sworn in as USCIS Director

USCIS announced today that it has sworn in Leon Rodriguez  as its newest Director. The Brooklyn native (and, like yours truly, raised in Miami) previously worked as the director of HHS’ Office for Civil Rights and as a deputy assistant attorney general at the Department of Justice. He was also county attorney for DC suburban county Montgomery County, Maryland.

Director Rodriguez takes over at an exciting time as the Obama Administration gears up to announce a series of executive actions that will no doubt be a challenge for USCIS. I wish him the best.
