The winner of this year’s Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play is British-born actress Sophie Okonedo for her work in the revival of the classic American play A Raisin in the Sun. Okonedo might also win for having the most diverse personal background. Aside from being a foreign actress, her father is Nigerian, her mother is Jewish and her grandparents were born in Russia and Poland. Okonedo is probably familiar to many because she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the great film Hotel Rwanda.
